On June 29, 2023, we conducted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session with Eberhard Scheuer, the Founder of dHealth, and Hima Abed, the Chief Operating Officer. The session aimed to address various topics and provide updates on recent announcements. The AMA focused on the prospects of dHealth, its move to earn app, and plans for the transition to the Binance Application Sidechain (BAS). Additionally, Eberhard shed light on the concept of the $ACTIV token, the long-term vision for dHealth's ecosystem, and the importance of community involvement in decision-making processes.
Here are some takeaways from the AMA:
On June 29, we launched UPDATE, previously known as Elevate. It will be a beta launch, and we have integrated the app with Strava for beta testing. We aim to onboard up to 10,000 users in the next four to six weeks and gather feedback to make improvements. Initially, we'll focus on Strava integration, but we plan to integrate with Apple Watch and Google Fit.
Move to earn: UPDATE
The project initially started as Elevate. However, we had to change the name due to copyright and trademark issues. After brainstorming, we settled on the name "Update" for our health token project. It aligns well with our goal of providing updates to your health.
Physical activity is just the beginning, as there's more to health than that. Nutrition and mental health are important aspects too. We're starting with physical activity because it's easier to operationalize, but we have plans to expand into other areas.
We have opted for a progressive web app (PWA) for UPDATE for ease of maintenance, cross-platform consistency, and the ability to bring user data to the platform without storing it permanently. PWAs have several advantages, and many popular programs, like YouTube, also use this approach.
Long-term prospects of UPDATE
We aim to transform Move to Earn into Health to Earn, taking a more holistic approach to incentivizing healthy habits. We want to connect traditional healthcare stakeholders like clinics and governments with preventative health practices like fitness, nutrition, and stress management. This approach can improve health, increase fitness levels, and reduce chronic diseases. We also aim to induce behavior change through gamification and foster a sense of community.
We are also exploring partnerships with sports brands and wellness companies. The benefits for these companies include:
- Reaching our ecosystem of over 10,000 potential users.
- Engaging with users through corporate programs or wellness offerings.
- Gaining exposure to a community interested in health and fitness.
We want to provide value to both our users and our partner brands.
About the $ACTIV Token
The $ACTIV token serves as a bridge token on the dHealth Network blockchain, converting minutes of exercise to $ACTIV tokens. However, simply giving out tokens to the community is not sustainable. We aim to bring in organizations and sponsors to provide value to the ecosystem. They will sponsor data collection and contribute to the burning or redemption of tokens. We're in talks with regional providers and corporate health programs interested in participating.
The current review period with the MEXC exchange is ongoing, and we are confident that we will meet the trading volume threshold in the next 72 hours. [DHP has successfully graduated from the assessment zone to the innovation zone on MEXC on July 6 (edited)]
As for new listings, our BP20 token will be released on July 5 on PancakeSwap. We have also accepted an offer from a top 10 exchange, and within the next four to six weeks, we expect another listing for DHP on that exchange.
Transitioning to the BNB Side Chain
We are currently exploring the best way to implement it, and we expect the transition to take place in approximately 8 to 12 weeks. This transition will also coincide with migrating the UPDATE platform to the Binance Application Sidechain (BAS). We want to ensure a smooth process and make the transition seamless for users.
Regarding the mainnet and hard fork, we have no plans to shut down the current mainnet. It is a public chain, and as long as the community maintains it, it will continue to exist. However, at some point, a community decision will be made to determine the most successful network. We want to avoid multiple tokens for different networks, so the total number of DHP tokens will remain the same across all chains. We will implement community voting to decide the technical direction, and we understand the importance of maintaining harvesting and staking during this process.
We hope this clarifies the questions raised by the community. We are committed to the success of dHealth, UPDATE, and the broader health ecosystem. Thank you for your support and involvement in this journey.
